Product Description
This is a homemade face mask made with a double layer of 100% cotton fabric. The Good Garment face masks are washable, reversible and the elastic is adjustable & replaceable. The fabric we chose is quite a tight weave but still breathable. We made this after seeing the @littlestitchstudio blog post . Of course, these are not as effective as surgical masks and are by no means PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) but something is better than nothing if used properly and wearing a mask definitely stops you touching your face all the time.
We also have 3 layer masks that have an extra layer of polypropylene in the middle.
All masks are reversible and adjustable. The elastic is threaded through and tied in a knot so you can adjust if needed. There is a video on Instagram IGTV showing Danita threading the elastic. You can re-tie the elastic and can also replace it if the elastic wears out from washing in hot water or if you'd prefer say fabric ties instead of elastic.
Each mask is reversible so you have a choice of 2 prints. This also allows for easy identification of the side that was touching your face and gives you 2 masks in one!

Fabric: double layer mask is 100% cotton, 120 thread count. Eco-friendly print.
Sizing: Adult size masks are recommended for children about 12 years and over. Approximate dimensions when laid flat:
Adult: 22cm x 9cm
Child: 17.5cm x 7.5cm

As these are handmade face masks, cut and sewn by hand, no two face masks are the same and there will be variation in size, pleat position and print placement.

This is not medical advice but a few points on how to wear them:
- wash your hands thoroughly with soap before putting on
- when you wear them outside the home keep them on the whole time - don't pull it down onto your neck and them back onto your face.
- when putting them on and taking them off try and only touch the elastic
- wash them with detergent after every use outside
- we suggest ensuring the elastic is tightened in a knot and putting the mask in a garment bag prior to going in the washing machine

More info on 3 layer masks...
From WHO article*: “Depending on fabric used, filtration efficiency and breathability can complement or work against one another...Commercial cotton fabric masks are in general very breathable but offer lower filtration.The filter quality factor known as “Q” is a commonly used filtration quality factor....According to expert consensus three (3) is the minimum Q factor recommended.”
Cotton masks such as ours have a Q factor of at least 5.4 so exceed the minimum Q factor of 3.

Sizing Chart
The below is our standard sizing chart for the patterns that we currently have.
All measurements are taken with the garment laid flat and measured in centimetres.
The most important measurement is the Bust. When measuring the garments this is taken across the front from the underarm seam on one side to the other side.
Remember you can always change the length of the garment so just make sure the bust measurement is a little bigger than your actual bust.

We take pride in our craftwomanship – our aim is for the inside to look as good as the outside. Our garments are made to be loved and to last.

Sustainability Statement
For our garments with the beautiful prints, we order our fabric from a supplier that ‘prints on demand’ therefore minimizing fabric and ink wastage. They ethically source the base fabrics and use a pigment printing process that consumes very little water. This meets the Oeko-Tex 100 requirement to be free of restricted chemicals.
